Organochlorines, a version of the pesticide called DDT that is banned in most countries, is now being used in our degreasers. Yes, you heard me; you are now using a form of pesticide to cut through the grease on the same pots, pans and plates that you serve your food on. Not only does this chemical cause cancer, but it also disrupts the endocrine system.
The next time you pull out a degreaser, or use a detergent with a degreaser in it, think about what you’re cleaning your dishes with.
